President/Founder
John Noel, has been in the lighting field and energy efficiency field for over 10 years. John started with IllumElex Corporation selling lighting maintenance services and lighting retrofit services. Later, IllumElex was merged and closed its Atlanta operations in early 1999. In the spring of 1999 at his dining room table and with a few thousand dollars from a cashed in 401k as seed money, Mr. Noel formed Energy and Environment.

The company began as a lighting retrofit company specializing in energy efficient projects for Commercial, Industrial and Military customers. From humble beginnings in the Southeast, our area of reach has grown, extending from Vermont to Hawaii. In the past E&E focused primarily on lighting. Facilities were identified that wasted energy through inefficient lighting systems and we corrected the problem by retrofitting the old T12 lamps and magnetic ballasts to new T8 lamps and electronic ballasts. Old High Pressure Sodium HID fixtures and Metal Halide HID fixtures were often replaced with cutting edge, controllable, electronically ballasted, Metal Halide fixtures. Typically, customers saw their investment payback in 1 to 3 years. As electric rates continue to increase, these payback periods continue to decrease.
As Energy & Environment LLC grows, it continues to expand its product offerings and customer base. While E&E still provides efficient lighting consulting and contracting services nationwide, we now have experts which look at the whole of a building envelope. Our experts review the full contents of a structure to determine deficiencies and opportunities in insulation, windows, HVAC, water consumption and savings opportunities, roofing and GeoThermal.
Our emphasis on energy savings includes a broad range of solutions that limit exposure to rising costs while providing a more comfortable environment.
