Energy Audit

An energy audit is conducted to identify ways to boost energy efficiency and reduce the amount of energy used in a system without negatively affecting production or environment.  Beyond simply identifying the sources of energy use, an energy audit prioritizes the greatest cost effective opportunities for energy savings.  When the object of study is an occupied building, reducing energy consumption while maintaining or improving human comfort, health and safety are of primary concern. Your building's audit will be performed by two professional auditors, who take time to address your concerns in order to ensure accuracy in every job.  Our contracting arm has a ten year, zero claim safety record.  The resulting rating of the building's energy efficiency also recommends cost-effective improvement measures.  All recommendations for system upgrades are customized to your needs.  Your E&E energy audit team will include a CEA (Certified Energy Auditor) sanctioned by the AEE (Association of Energy Engineers).

A comprehensive review of your energy usage will include:

  • Meetings with facility personal to review building use, operations, history, as well as previous and ongoing energy conservation measures (ECM).
  • Review of building construction and system drawings.
  • Review Energy use records including Electricity and non-electric fuels.
  • Walk through of building to observe*, evaluate, test, and document the following elements:
    • Building Envelope
    • Building Occupancy
    • HVAC Systems
  • Controls
  • Ventilation
  • Heating
  • Cooling
  • Domestic Hot Water
  • Lighting
  • Power
  • Refrigeration
  • Ancillary Systems
  • Exterior maintenance.
    • Evaluate Renewable Energy Potential.
    • Identify potentially applicable ECMs.
    • Estimate electrical and economic savings for each ECM.  Incentives shall be included in economic estimates.
    • Generate building and/or system model to perform detailed analysis of ECM savings potential as needed.  (Requires client approval and additional fee)
    • Develop implementation plan.
    • Oversee implementation of ECM and associated training.
    • Update or generate building operation manual to incorporate ECM.
    • Perform 6-month follow up walk-through with client.
